Description

The FLOW DOWN® magnetic license plate holder for the Hyundai i30 N pre-facelift makes the front area visibly cleaner and allows the license plate to be removed at any time. No more screw mounts – once installed, the license plate can be removed in seconds for track days, photoshoots, or car meets.

High-performance neodymium magnets, tested up to 300 km/h and proven in practical tests on the Nürburgring Nordschleife with racing driver Loris Scheider. Magnets and manufacturing made in Germany.

Material

High-performance neodymium magnets in a robust plastic housing. Weather-resistant and tailored to the bumper contour of the i30 N VFL.

Usage

Screw the magnets onto the bumper, stick the magnet plates onto the license plate – done. Simply attach the license plate and remove it again if needed.

Optional installation is also possible at FLOW DOWN® in Essen.

Does the holder fit only the pre-facelift or also the facelift model?

This holder is precisely designed for the i30 N pre-facelift (model years 2017–2020). There is a separate version for the facelift from 2020 onwards – the bumper was revised with the facelift, so a model-specific mount is necessary.

Does the holder also work on the i30 Fastback N and the Performance version?

Yes. The i30 Fastback N and the i30 N Performance share the identical front bumper with the standard i30 N in the pre-facelift – the holder fits all three variants.

Are the holders for the front and rear the same?

Yes, the holders themselves are identical. However, the installation differs: At the front, the magnets are screwed onto the factory mounts of the original license plate holder. At the rear, these mounts cannot be used – they have a thread that does not fit our screws, as the original screws are significantly thicker. Therefore, two new holes must be drilled in the rear bumper.

How does the holder behave during the N-typical Launch Control starts?

The magnets withstand the acceleration stress without any problems. The holder has been tested up to 300 km/h and driven in practical tests on the Nordschleife – Launch Control starts are not an issue.

Can I easily revert to the original holder after removal?

At the front, yes, since the factory mounts remain intact. On the rear bumper, the two additionally drilled holes remain after removal – these can be concealed with small covers or by a painter.

What should I consider when washing the car?

In a traditional cloth car wash, it is advisable to briefly remove the license plate. At the self-service wash bay with a high-pressure cleaner, the license plate can remain mounted.
