Do I definitely need the V.1 rear add-on?

Yes. The V.2 is matched to its lower edge and has no clean connection without it. Without the add-on, take the first shape.

Does the part fit an A3 with S line too?

Yes. On the 8V facelift the S3 and A3 with S line share the rear apron. An A3 in base trim, however, has a different lower finish.

Does the part apply to the Sportback too?

No, this version is for the saloon. The Sportback drops away more steeply at the rear and has its own parts.

Does the fitting have to be entered in the papers?

No. A parts type approval is in place, so fitting needs no registration entry. You only need to carry the papers.
